Improvements

Just curious as to what everyone would like to see improvement wise in the medical cannabis industry, and not just the quality of bud!

Electronic prescriptions being legalised for private controlled drug scripts. It would speed up the process and make it a lot better and easier for us all. That’s the number one thing I want to see with this system.

Have been thinking a little bit over the past few weeks about this, there are a few i would like to see for example:

A news letter from the pharmacy letting patients know about new ranges or stock replenishes (doesnt have to include strain names but would be really nice to see) and reports of patient quality feed backs.

More accurate naming/ details of strains (for example khiron hindu kush is definetly not a true kush strain) with their terpine profiles provided so patients can make informed choices.

A wider range of flowers and oils with variations in each bracket (currently really limited on sativa availability and very few hybrid flowers)

Sample packs for oils, would be really nice to see. Maybe 3 types ( high thc, balanced, high cbd) provided in 10ml bottles so patients can find what is effective for them without having to buy 50ml and potentially have a massive amount of something that isn't well suited for them.

Bit of a dream at the moment but i would really like to see pre made and consistently dosed edibles, massively reduced priced across the entire available ranges especially the vape carts and i would really like to see some of the other registered companies products enter this market (the medically available strains in germany and australia is massive compared to what we have).

Apologies for the spelling 😂😂

The ability to visit a dispensary and choose medication, or a least more of a variety if not free choice, for a flat price per gram (I really can’t see how they can justify the mass price difference per gram, a seed if grown the same way regardless of strain)

My ideal scenario would be a US/Canada style system, where patients are issued with a Medical Cannabis card, and can then order what they want, when needed, from online (with next day delivery) or physical dispensaries. GPs would receive training, and be able to prescribe these cards. Card holders would also be able to apply for a Medical Grower card, which would entitle them to grow up to 9 plants simultaneously, for personal use - there would be some nominal fee for this. Along with the Grower card, you'd receive information on how to grow, energy efficiency etc. There would also be some kind of centralised service where you could have your home-grown tested - this would be funded by card fees.

Meanwhile back on planet UK... I'd simply like to be able to order from all available strains in my patient portal - anything I like, up to some grammage limit per month, without paying for a time and money wasting appointment.

In addition, I'd like electronic scripts for controlled drugs - it beggars belief that you can get next day delivery and great service on the darknet, but not from official channels.

Oh, and I'd like the police to stop treating patients like criminals. IMO the best way is simply to issue patients with a Medical Cannabis card (not like "the dream" above, just something that proves the patient is legal).

The storage containers need sorting out. As does the quality of products overall

I'd like easy access to a wider range of cheaper CBD products including flower, oils, balms and other CBD based products. I don't think CBD based products should be subject to the same restrictions as THC as I understand they're generally a lot safer yet offer many valuable medical benefits. I think CBD really helps many people, and can be very soothing; but is far too expensive and as hard as THC flower to aquire; when it should be cheaper than THC flower, affordable and easy to find.

I'd like access to a wider range of vape carts and for them to come down in price, as they're very good but should be £25 - £50 instead of £75 each.

I'd really like the option to be able to take my prescription into a brick and mortar shop, to be able to browse what's available and buy my meds in person.

I'd like all prescribing clinicians to have access to a better, up to date, modern database of available medicine so they can better tell if something is actually in stock before they prescribe it.

I'd like more and better strains added to Project 21, along with better communication on when new strains may be avaliable.

I'd like more clinics to launch high quality strains for £5.00 a gram, the cost of living has risen and many people will have to choose between medicine and food. This is wrong. We are patients, take care of us.

I'd like regular access to THC MC flower which has been carefully grown and cultivated here in the UK to a very high standard.
Properly grown, cured and dried with care and knowledge to a high standard; with nothing removed from it.
Rather than some funny looking, bone dry, wrong shade of green, terpless flower with tiny buds from Australia via Uganda, which has just spent 12 months in a warehouse or in customs waiting to get into the country before being sent stale, old, terpless and dry to the unsatisfied patient.
This is a fixable problem: let UK pharms grow it themselves and it'll be fresher, more effective, cost effective and efficient - better all round for patient and clinic alike.
Cut the red tape and massive carbon footprint of needlessly flying flower around the world, and recruit some good craft growers/cultivators to show these companies how to grow properly here in the UK. I think quality, range and availability would significantly rise and clinics/pharmacies would soon be able to lower prices for patients: everyone's a winner.
