I'm off to a ticketed show tomorrow. It'll be the first time where I feel I need to take my cannabis with me as I'm at the tail end of a 2 week flare up with my back and sitting for prolonged periods is quite painful.
The venue itself isn't being revealed until tomorrow so I havent been able to reach out to them to make them aware. Instead I've informed the event organiser. They're totally cool and just said have your prescription with you and ask for me at the door to make sure I get in.
I wondered if anyone has had any issues going to shows? I'm thinking I'll be alright but if anything goes wrong it would probably be with door staff as I'll need to exit the venue to vape. I'll only be taking enough to get me through the show so if they confiscate it I'm not losing everything.

Just make sure you have the name and position of someone who knows about this **and will be there on the night**. Unless the security actually work for the venue it's doubtful they will know anyone in charge, but if you say you need to speak to Dave the Duty Manager then they can get them on the radio.

Echoing that they cannot confiscate it from you, that would probably be unlawful possession under the Misuse of Drugs Act/Regs and theft as they are not legally allowed to possess your prescription, only you can 🙂 I just save a copy of my script on my phone and have a paper copy in the car.

It would be illegal for them to confiscate a controlled drug just FYI.
I'd clarify the plan with the host now rather than waiting to you get there (I.e you want to be able to keep hold of your meds, know where you can vape etc beforehand) - saves the issues on the day & the worry.
