Self Medicating

Hi all,

I’ve been self-medicating for anxiety and insomnia for around 4 years. I tend to smoke about 14g/month at street value.

Is having a prescription more cost effective? Am I likely to be prescribed for anxiety and insomnia?

Thanks.

I was self medicating for years, went prescription in September 2022, no regrets, I get consistent quality and strains and I’m legal which helps with my anxiety.

Only if you've tried other treatments previously, perhaps propranolol and therapy for example

Depends how much you spend on BM. For me it was cheaper.

Do you drive? The other benefit of having a prescription is that you're not getting an automatic 1 year ban if the police ever do a roadside test on you. Without a prescription that's pretty much guaranteed.

I used to smoke 1 -2 ounces a month for pain and sleep from BM.

Now using around 10 - 15g a month vaping it with a Tinymight2. The Tinymight2 is expensive but i will have made my money back within 3 months with reduced consumption.

So much better than smoking lots of dawg or haze.

Lots of people complain, and often rightly so, but this is usually more to do with the processes not working so well within the clinics.

The quality of bud is way better now than a year or two ago when I first tried MC.

I was prescribed for anxiety and insomnia and similar experience with side effects of the other meds. It works out cheaper for me because for the short time I was on BM it was expensive to buy crypto and I didn’t have a local plug. My last prescription was for 30g of Noidecs GG4 and 10g of EMB-1. It lasts 4-6 weeks depending on need and that probably sets me back around £200 and there’s occasional consult fees. The flower is usually not as good quality as BM, and it’s a bit of a lottery whether you get a new or older batch but for medicinal reasons, I have no complaints over the effects and it has greatly helped with with the symptoms. Good luck 👍

You have to have tried 2 or more medications from your GP for the same condition, and with these conditions these gp tablets take 6 months each to fully work so in theory you need to of been on meds for over a year with proof.

Sounds like a no-brainer to me. Qualifies and would clearly benefit!
