Quick summary of Salford CBPM meeting

-it was substantially delayed
-no vote occured on the motion due to time delays, postponed until January despite Cllr Walters' attempts to arrange an extraordinary meeting to continue the discussion
-oppostion appear to have passed an amendment which substantially dilutes the motion, making it about all drugs rather than CBPM. I'm not 100% sure on this, but what I gathered.
-it was suggested our prescriptions were not even legal

Bit outrageous. An insight into the slow beaurocracy of local politics. Votes on votes on votes. More to follow.

Any interest in doing an AMA with the councillor?

What’s more important is whether they got to eat their cold lunch? FFS

Thanks OP for keeping us all informed.

I will resist the urge to further rant.

Some big hoo-ha about unlicensed vs licensed medication. Absolutely ridiculous. Loads of medication is unlicensed for conditions it's prescribed for, why on earth should that matter? It's prescribed by a clinician, who is allowed to do so.

I wouldn’t be surprised if because of the Spice epidemic these politicians are confusing spice with medical cannabis every time they hear it so there is likely to be a stigma towards it.

Like I said, better they at least talk about it than doing nothing at all but yes, like you rightly said, there's a lot of faff and votes on votes on god knows what, maybe there's even lobbying for cannabis not to be legalised, but I like to think if anyone is lobbying, they must be doing it __*FOR*__ cannabis and not against.

I mean, the tax money alone from legalisation will probably be in the billions if not more even.

Personally, I don't think I'll see that day and I'm 36.

It's a sad state of affairs when __*any*__ politician tells you what you already have is sufficient and it's fair.\
That how you know they're lying. More than the usual anyway.

And we wonder why our country is a mess. Do you have any idea how much these people get paid to do this?

Literally. Pass an equality motion. 5 minute job. Just get it done. Stop fannying around. Fair play to the people trying to get it done. Working with these processes can be infuriating when you get people who make their living out of making simple stuff difficult to justify their employment.

All to often a meeting structure is more important than what's actually damn well in it.
