Flower Mill Feedback

So I was watching a few videos on the flower mill grider and at first it looks pretty good but then I started to see people in the comments saying pieces of metal were being grinded into the flower? Has anyone tried the flower mill? Like I said it looks good but I've not seen any horror stories on other grinders like this....

I have the big one with extra plates and the small size.

I have never experienced metal dust appearing on either.

The problem, imho, is that some are using these mills in the same way as toothed ripper grinders, pressing down and giving it some stick without ensuring that the herb is intitially placed evenly, that results in eccentric movement so that the two opposing parts make contact where they shouldn't, hence wear and bits you don't want.

These mills are designed to use the weight of the "mill-stone" to do the work, not hand pressure. My herb is fluffy with many more intact trichs and it kindly sorts the stalks .. vapes very well.

Final point - I'm sure many have seen the images on some subs showing very dirty and worn grinders, " I've had it 10 years etc" Most of the paint missing, was it tasty? Fake anodising worn off and finally made from plastic with worn teeth! Very healthy

Get a grip! ( weak & bad pun intended)

they ship them with silicone o rings now which seems to work.. it's a mixed bag I've used mine for 2 years and never had metal.

As others have commented it works differently to a conventional grinder and you put no pressure on and just go back and forth(it also comes apart if you go to long in one direction).

I really prefer it to a the other high-end grinders I've used.

I was super keen to get one of these, however saw all the horror stories, & just fuck that; not worth the risk.

Like you say, it’s not an issue with other grinders.

There definitely is a metal dust issue with the flower mill.

There's a diagram of it on this listing for bee's wax that is the best fix I'm aware of for the problem. Easier than me trying to describe the part of the grinder that's grinding on itself. Anyway it seems to be a manufacturing tolerance issue because I returned my 1st flower mill that was getting all scuffed up from where it was rubbing, and the replacement doesn't have the issue.

All that being said I don't actually use my flower mill much so I'm thinking of listing it on eBay. I also have a herb ripper and I much prefer it but it also has issues like getting gummed up faster than I'd like, not a big deal though. Everyone says the best grinder to buy is the steel brilliant cut grinder but that's no good if you need it now
