Hi,
I've noticed that I have been experiencing a level of anxiety while medicating. Not physical anxiety but notice that my thoughts gravitate towards anxious themes. For example, analysing negative past experiences etc...
I try to ignore it, but it can be persistent and quite intense but I've carried on as for the most part as it helps with my pain and is an escape from my medical condition.
I do worry that medicating over time can change my thinking to negative/anxious?
Do you experience anxiety with your meds?
How do you rationalise medicating if you do experience anxiety?
Should I try a different flower? Higher CBD content?
TIA

OK. Not a doctor here. PERSONAL experience / view.
Is it possible that the thoughts are things unprocessed? My mind can go wandering sometimes on MC and at times it is highlighting things I feel on reflection I've been carrying around.
We're conditioned that thoughts like this etc shouldn't happen. That is toxic positivity.
If your mind has been occupied by pain, and now it's found relief, is it possible that you're just aware of something that was under other thoughts before. The old onion analogy.
This isn't to say that it means this MC is right or appropriate for you. But it's always worth asking ourselves, are these things we've actually got unresolved and might a bit of therapy etc help.
Not a suggestion. Just some personal thoughts.
Personal source of this experience? Lots and lots of fucking therapy.

I suffer anxiety with Sativa heavy strains. Could be that for you or could be something completely different.

It’s probably the strain. There are lots of anxiety patients here. It’s always the strain. CBD doesn’t work for everyone. Try something less racey, less sativa, more Indica. More relaxing, less uplifting. Many of us find high limonene content is a trigger. Look at the terpenes of the strain for a clue.

yeah if you're having sativa and prone to anxiety of any kind, it's not something to use for relaxing or getting relief from that. i have general anxiety and am on another medication for that, and i got by the rule that if i'm alone i'll stick with anything indica dominant. if i'm out and wanting to be more social or productive i'll use a sativa hybrid. i'll very rarely go full sativa or i'll start to spiral a little like you described lol if you mention this to your clinic they should be able to talk you through what would be good to try for relieving those feelings. if you're already using indica then maybe try smaller doses and work up to what feels best!
