Has anybody travelled from Northern Ireland to Scotland with their prescription?
I am going over for a day trip tomorrow and I contacted the Ferry company they have no issue, police at this end have no issue but when I contacted police Scotland I was told “medical cannabis is not legal in Scotland”.
I then got a phone call from a Sargent who advised me while he is now aware it is in fact legal (after previously telling me it was not) he still could NOT guarantee that I would not be arrested for possession. I argued with him but didn’t get anywhere, I have made a complaint to police Scotland.
I am now frantically phoning around my clinic and pharmacy in an attempt to get them to contact Police Scotland to advise them of the laws around medical cannabis.
I don’t know what to do, i don’t want to take my prescription then have my day ruined by some over zealous plod who doesn’t know the law.

This sort of inconsistency in police policy is appalling and should be addressed by those higher up in the establishment who have the clout to get the message across. Trouble is, that won’t happen and we’re still at the mercy of ignorant coppers. Just wait until there’s an arrest and confiscation from someone with a high media profile and watch the resulting shit storm which will go in our favour. Roll on that day but until then we’re all potentially under arrest because of stupidity by coppers who should know better.

Thinking about this - am wondering if we should collate names of forces and officers who still labour under the mistaken belief that MC isn’t legal. We wouldn’t fall foul of GDPR rules as we’re not using their names to process any data, and if it becomes known that there’s a shit list of bad coppers then that might push things along nicely. No cop wants to be named on a list of shame.

That’s crazy them saying they can’t guarantee you won’t get arrested. That’s absolute madness. He admits it’s legal and yet says he’ll nick you anyway?! C’mon now…
Honestly I wouldn’t have said anything. I would just go with a medical bag with my meds, my Fp10 and maybe even a letter from the clinic. Oh and just to confuse things…my cancard.

Just go and don’t blow your vape in a policeman’s face. And personally I’ve been stopped before by police Scotland given them m ten gram pot while they checked my prescription and gave it straight back to me.

I wouldn't have bothered to contact if you're travelling domestically, it's very different if you're flying abroad as different laws apply.
Just go, vape discreetly if possible, try not to worry if you can't.

Id go man. At worst they’re going to wrongfully arrest you and confiscate your medicine and then you’re going to go to a solicitor and sue them for wrongful arrest and for taking your legal right to medicate away. They will then pay for your next few prescriptions and save you some money.
Either way you win.
