Does anybody know the actual reason higher thc = more expensive?
Is it harder to produce higher thc or is it just a marketing ploy?

I don’t think the THC level has anything to do with price. Some strains cost more to grow, are more difficult to grow, have a higher fail rate or lower yield etc. You’ll find some 25% strains at £5/g and there’s a 14% strain that’s £13.90/g.

Resources spent per plant. Some strains can be ready after only 6 weeks of flowering, whereas some Sativa dominant strains can take 12 weeks or more. On top of that, strains have different yields, so a low yield, long flowering, high THC strain can be costly to produce.

Master kush t25 is one of the cheapest strains. I dont think thc content is much of a price guide

High THC is way easier to produce than high cbd, apparently

More r&d to develop stronger strains or buy good genetics in, more stringent and expensive cultivation environments and techniques and often higher power demand as for me the best strains are lights grown, not greenhouse or lights assisted greenhouse.
