Unfortunately this is standard from most clinics. If you want to change a medication it usually requires a doctors all clear to be done.

Let's say you got some anti depressants from your GP and didn't like them. The pharmacist can't do that for you. You'd need to see a doctor.

It's frustrating I agree but it's there to make sure patients are receiving appropriate medication.

Unfortunately that is just the way sapphire work (I don’t agree with it), it’s a big part of why I moved to cantourage

It's the same for almost all clinics - especially the good ones.

There are some clinics that are a bit more...dodgy..who will just change over email without a discussion - but that just doesn't sit right from a medical POV...

If you have had a strain before it's different - and Sapphire will (sometimes) update you without an appointment in that case - but for trying something entirely new, they would and should want an appointment.

This is the same for any other private prescription too in general. Different with the NHS but then you don't pay for appointments at point of use so its hard to compare.

I hope you find a strain that you get on with.

In my experience it actually depends on your doctor more than the clinic.

A family member of mine at the same clinic im at can’t just switch what strains he wants.
Meanwhile I can request anything id like on the online portal granted its in the same strength range but even then im using the sourdough and Delahaze currently so im already on the strongest stuff more or less.

Gate keeping terpenes is stupid and a good doctor will recognise this, monitor their thc consumption and let them experiment with what terpenes work for them.

It's just greed and bureaucracy. I disagree that this is like any other medicine. You should be able to try a good range of cultivars to see what works for your condition. This can take months with Sapphire because they push Adven and narrow range of meds, and charge everytime you want a small change. Before JEC took on too many clients you could buy a replacment if a medicine didn't work or was of poor quality. I hope they overcome this problem because it seemed like a good servuce for a few month there.

Yup do your research before getting something prescription to you like pick what you want your alloud 1 29% high thc flower and one lower than 25%.
The only way you get to choose other wise is if it is out of stock then you get a choice of an alternative,

In my opinion go on to the form on the app and look at all the flower they do have for prescription then go from there btw I get 40g high thc 20g low thc love and peace oh yeah and 100% thc oil 🌲❤️

I had the same issues and moved to mamedica...I've had a really rough start with mamedica compared to sapphire... But the choice is so much better and can choose (certain) different strains without an appt

My sapphire dashboard has an option to choose an alternative. 2 options with similar thc content. You have to select a reason one being 'didn't agree with me '

This is their standard procedure. You have to Pay £50 per strain to titration.

I got the same answer when I asked to change my strain too.

Yeah that’s just how it is. And remember a doctor can still refuse you a certain strain at consultation, for example if they think it’s too strong for you.

It's one the reasons I switched to Alternaleaf a few months ago.

The pharmacist and the consultant both stressed I would not need to pay to add or remove strains.

However, I noticed on my last prescription request that they said I'd need to make a new appt to add or remove a strain so....

Move away from them.

I can change strain via a repeat but it has to be a similar strain (same or less thc % and if it’s replacing an indica needs to be indica etc). If it’s a bigger change like increasing thc, even by 2% would need to be reviewed by a dr. I seem to have been set a 20% thc limit which I will seek to increase at next review as wanted to try some 22% strains. I’m with JEC.

Precisely with that. It’s like anyone other medication, to change your prescription you need to see a doctor. It’s unfortunate but it’s just the way it is.

Just sapphire milking money from patients as always, nowhere else in the medical field do you need a Dr's appointment to switch to a different brand of medication, Teva to Crescent for instance, switch to a decent clinic such as integro it's what i did myself.
