I'm prescribed for pain, but have diverticulitis, Crohn's /IBD as well. As the previous comment, it won't stop infections or flare-ups or the mechanism behind diverticular disease unfortunately, however it does help with pain associated with cramps, constipation, and that general feeling of malaise I get. It's incredible how much I protect my midriff and tense up when I am feeling any symptoms. My meds have helped with this massively. I had a previous perforation, colostomy and then resection 18 months later. Pain meds absolutely destroy me, both opiates and NSAID'S. If you have tried either of these for your diverticulitis, or 2 of anything it may be worth enquiring.
I seem to be having more success in treating my issues with higher CBD strains, and the upside of this seems to be that my GI issues are better managed. It hasn't gone away, but I feel its more predictable.
Had simple diverticulitis initially, now had a resection due to a perforation.
For my case it helps now and helped then to keep regular bowel movement each morning.
The worst thing i found that weed could do to it is that if i had the munchies but didnt satisfy the craving and didnt eat for long times i would suffer with diverticulitis associated symptoms.
Does it help? No, not with an acute infection. Does MC calm down the inflammation after a flare up? yes, but as flare ups are not ongoing nor MC will prevent future flare ups I highly doubt you will be able to get MC for diverticulitis, unless it’s chronic and you are prescribed two medications for it. IBS on the other hand it will help loads and you can be prescribed MC for it.
