Sapphire initial appointment - should I cancel and go elsewhere?

Hi everyone,

I'm a bit new to this. I have several related conditions including Autistic Spectrum Disorder)Asperger's, depression and anxiety. I've tried various medicines (3 types of antidepressant, and beta blockers), as well as talking therapies (CBT, counseling, and psychodynamic psychotherapy). I have taken cannabis illegally, and have found that it is effective in calming down my racing thoughts, over sensitivity to stimuli, and given me a mood boost.

However, I find the stress of buying and using it illegally can add to my existing worries, and due to having Asperger's it hasn't always been easy for me to find reliable dealers. Also, I'd like to take it as part of a structured plan, so I believe getting prescribed by a proper clinic is the best step forward.

Anyway, when I initially looked into this I thought Sapphire was the only clinic allowed to prescribe in Scotland (it now seems pretty much all UK clinics can prescribe in Scotland), and booked an appointment with them

Since I have discovered this sub, it seems that people have mixed experiences with Sapphire, particularly with regards to choice of flower, and irradiated Vs non-irradiated. The impression I get, is that with other clinics, it is possible to discuss different strains with the pharmacist/doctor, whereas with Sapphire, the impression I get is that they have a narrower range of strains they're willing to provide.

So I'd like to hear from people about their experiences with Sapphire, and whether they found the selection limited, and/or if they had better options elsewhere.

Thanks.

I’m with Sapphire. They’re great. Some on here complain but I’ve no complaints.
The flower I get works for my pain great. I don’t much mind whether it’s irradiated to sterilise or not.
They’re easy to use and so cheap compared to others. It’s £50 for an appointment and no charges for repeats.
If you’re willing to spend more, you can get more a bespoke personalised service but it costs. You can’t expect low costs and whistles and Bells on top.
Sapphire. Easy to use, friendly staff, good service and cheap.

You'll always find people will bitch and moan about every clinic. I've been with TMCC and never had any issues yet just saying that will get me downvoted. Every clinic will have issues from time to time, this is still a very rapidly growing industry and is having teething problems. It should be smooth sailing but it isn't but for the most part the system works pretty well and is helping a lot of people.

I'd say take the appointment and see what happens. At the very least you'll have access to a legal and safe medication.

I’ve been with sapphire since beginning of March and overall it’s been positive for me (psychiatry). A couple of administrative hiccups but rectified over an afternoon and my recent post re longer wait times for appointments are the only negative aspects. Positive aspects - the Dr I seen really understood how my mental health impacts me daily and having rarely used cannabis implemented a sensible “go low, go slow”plan for me using oils, their electronic User/account system is good.

I've been with Sapphire since Feb, generally I have no issues with them. Like some one said, a few hiccups every now and then, some my fault some theirs but always rectified with a quick call or 2.

The online portal is great and really easy to use. Having anxiety and memory troubles, being able to see that I have ordered meds and that they have been accepted is great. Yes, there are occasionally stock issues, but the portal gives you the opportunity to choose a replacement without a rewrite fee.

Yes, other clinics prescribe non irradiated flower, it does look amazing and I'd be lying if I didn't say I feel a bit left out. However, Sapphire are trying to be progressive and try new things, like the dosing pouches, which are fab for me with dexterity problems. I just wish they did all my strains like that! So regarding non irradiated flower, I think with time that will change too. Its a business after all, and I am sure they are working on their own way to bring back lost customers. Khiron are meant to be bringing out a non irradiated flos soon I believe. Maybe they will prescribe that in the coming weeks...🙏🤞

I'm happy with my meds, the service and both Curaleaf and DG have been very good. Far better than Boots who f*ck up my prescription every month.

Good luck with your journey, whichever clinic you go with.

Was with Sapphire for two years, almost constant fuck ups. Medication constantly not available, I would have to chase up orders, they weren't very responsive to emails, poor selection of poor quality flower.. tried cantourage, more of the same but this time I didn't stick around to find out if it would improve.

Integro have been completely seamless since I moved to them 3 months ago, highly recommended!

I started with sapphire and had a bad experience after two months I moved to cantourage, exactly the same costs for consultation and no repeat fees and I have access to better flower for only a few extra £. For me the service difference was night and day and I finally feel listened to when it comes to conversations with my new DR.

Not the same for everyone but it does happen so that's why I'm chiming in! Best of luck whichever route you decide to take.

If you choose to go with the Project Twenty 21 scheme (Google it, a website called DrugScience) then I can see Zerenia have been fantastic. I've only consumed strains at £5 per gram and while not as high quality as I'm used to within Black Market, I'm appreciating the fair prices and am generally pleased with the direction of travel.

My criticism of them is that I can't access the Grow strains which are considered to be the highest quality available currently. They also are not the cheapest, although fair, at £25 per repeat prescription and £65 per appointment (to change strains and 3 monthly)
