I've just been reviewing some information on the Mets website and I came across this:
"The card is NOT a ‘get out of jail free’ card and does not qualify as a legal entitlement
to possess Cannabis. However, given the unique circumstances, it is anticipated that
anyone who presents the card is treated with discretion and are not penalised for being
unable to access a legitimate need for medicinal Cannabis"
Does anyone here have experience of using BM Cannabis with a Cancard instead of Precstibtion?

In short it's a scam. Some police might treat you kinder if you have it but I wouldn't count on it. Waste of money

Surrey Police don’t recognise it at all, in their words “anyone could make that card up” the founder Carly Brunton took umbrage at me calling her out on her ‘Scamcard’ .Save your money.

Scamcard claims to have support from GPs when the BMA and RCGP both have statements saying they don't endorse it and never will since no professional medical body will ever support BM products

Avoid like the plague, prescription is the only thing that gives you proper protection

Someone on here shared a news article about a cancard holder being prosecuted for cannabis possession. I’ll post it in a comment if I can find the link.
Cancard is a good idea intheory, but I don’t think it’s going to help prevent criminal prosecution. If it was legally recognised the same way a prescription is, that’d be fine, but it isn’t.
I’ve had cancard for 2y. I’m due to renew again but im not sure if I will. Part of me wants to donate to help with advocacy and lobbying for MC but I doubt I’ll renew again.

Wrong sub for illegal BM use related card. This sub is for legal UK Medical Cannabis patients or potential patients.
It’s completely not helpful to genuine medical cannabis patients if recreational users & dealers have a canncard & try to use it in courts. If you have genuine health issues that are helped by using cannabis then you should look into an application to a clinic that provides a legal prescription.

I don't know why people call it a scam. Cancard are very up front about what it is and what it isn't. If people don't read the website properly, that's on them.
Some police will consider it, some won't. I know people who have had success with it and people who it made no difference for. It's no guarantee but it's not like Cancard are lying about that.

If police forces are actually developing policies based around Cancard (I've seen evidence of this a couple of times on here recently), how can it be a scam? It sounds like it is doing exactly what it is supposed to do. The main issue is that policing is still a postcode lottery on many things and that we still have myopic politicians.
