Some (probably most) insurers have a clause saying unlicensed treatments/medicines aren't covered. I remember one some years ago, which went as far as to exclude controlled drugs.
If you're looking specifically at AXA, you'd need to ask them and read the policy document carefully too.
I’m with AXA and wasn’t able to get cannabis for my fibromyalgia, so I just pay out of pocket. They’re a bit funny with fibromyalgia in general though, as there aren’t many treatments and it’s incurable, so you might have more luck if you’ve got a different condition idk

My employer pays for my appointments via their health insurance coverage. It's worth asking.
