Crohn’s: Best 1 For All Strain

Is there anybody that has Crohn’s disease on this Sub that is currently on prescription?

If so, have any of you found a single strain that helps with the wide range of symptoms that your condition causes? Or do you have to use a combination of various strains?

The Symptoms of my illness include severe fatigue, joint pains (not yet arthritic), little to no appetite, insomnia, stomach cramps, anxiety, stress and depression and chronic pain throughout the lower right of my abdomen.

I’m currently on 8 weekly Infliximab infusions to treat the inflammation from my disease but I’m using MC to combat all of the associated symptoms (above) after trying and rejecting opiates and other medications.

I’m currently prescribed the Adven T20/C10 indica oil which seems to be working okay (I’m no longer needing to vape 1g of flower every day which I was doing for 18 months before getting a prescription), but the Milky Cake T18 strain I’ve been prescribed doesn’t seem to be doing anything for the pains and various issues that I’ve been able to control with BM cannabis in the past, I find I’m vaping less overall due to the oil, but I’m having to vape a lot more to get a response when I’m in a lot of pain etc.

Any info and recommendations on different strains would be much appreciated!!

I have Crohn's and also on biologicals.

I have multiple strains for different purposes.

High thc for when I need pain relief and balance strains to use more regularly to keep inflammation at bay.

I have EmB-1, Cura-b2, EmT-1, and Cura-T16 currently.

I found the oils aggregated my digestive system, so I moved to flower.

UC here I’ve found Grow LA Sage very helpful settles my body and is good for mental health. I got it because it contains the terpene ‘Terpinolene’ which was also in Noidecs Delahaze which I can no longer get. This seems to have a good all round effect for me. Hindu Kush and higher indicas for pain relief. I’ve been trying different strains and French cookies seems useful. I will be trying grow gelato once it’s in stock at IPS. Identifying useful terpenes is a good way to navigate MC in my experience. These can be different for everyone.

You're gonna want a hard hitting indica for that sort of pain, although I find the gut-churning cramps you get with crohns flare-ups still manage to poke through, so have realistic expectations.

Off the top of my head, you could try Adven LA Kush Cake or Tally-Mon, MVC MAC1, Aurora LA Confidential or any Gelato strain. I've also had success with OG Kush. I've also found that flare-ups give me a lot of anxiety, in which case I'd go for a stronger hybrid, like Jack Herer (which I'm trying this month, will get back to you.)

Best of luck, and remember that no pain is final, and there are better times ahead. You rule, keep on keeping on.

I have crohns, stoma, arthritis, and everything else that comes with the lovely IBD.

Ive been on infliximab, mecapturpurine, humira, Stelara etc.

I have a little under a gram a day spacing it out over 4 “doses” 4 hours apart roughly. I personally always go for a Indica or an Indica heavy hybrid because it also helps slow down my brain (possible adhd) and as a result im 9 months no pharmaceuticals and ive put myself i to remission which my last medication Stelara could never do. (i have been there in the past with infliximab but caused liver failure).

When you smoke BM did you smoke with tobacco or always vape? Cause i know nicotine can have a mild positive affect with some IBD wondering if because you’re now vaping thats why you notice a difference because i find with vaping over smoking i ingest more air making the vape to cause more pain in my intestines.

If you have gastro issues then oils may not be for you as it's the carrier oils we seem to struggle to digest 😕

I've heard this from many gastro patients...may be worth swapping...I found khiron Hindu Kush gave me an appetite

I have Crohns. Isnt that oil way more expensive than doing a gram a day? If it works though I understand you using.

I haven’t had an awful lot of MC - but the ones i have had are nowhere near as effective as BM i have been getting.

If BM really isnt a choice, or your links don’t have products, the understand MC may be your only option. Ill go through products i have had, all from Grow Pharma and all lacking effectiveness, terps/flavour and strength. Cons for all of them are: microseeds, seeds and oldness. Makes then less effective and more harsh.

La sage and french cookies: pros -good for getting an appetite to eat, may allow you to eat nutritious food that before made you sick.

Gelato: you can get some rare buds that werent budrotting and seedy. But even them are lacking something. Wouldnt reccomend tho potentially the okay buds may help with pain.

Hellfire and herijuana: both lack effectiveness and flavour. Even more than the others.

I have a feeling the MAC may be good, but havent had and my experience with MC has given me less confidence of its effectiveness. Comes at a premium so hope it would be effective.
