Please don’t smoke.

I want to keep this short:

- This forum is for medical patients. Myself personally and others here have benefited from the advice given. I've found both health advice and legal tips useful. It's important to keep clarity on such and serve to guide more people, not confuse them.

- Recently, some advice was posted that was not true. A later attempt to falsify ‘evidence’ further aimed to deceive people.

- We are all patients, some physically impacted, some mentally and a further discussion centred around that person might not be appropriate. I think the resolve is to leave it here and further welcome that person to see we are good people. We should turn the other cheek and offer support if appropriate.

I hope this helps clarify the “smoking prescription” issue, on top of a pretty clear law stating such.

I'm all for people medicating how they chose, personally I follow the law and feel far better for it (not just financially as I use far less but physically my lungs are better). But the spreading of lies/misinformation is shit. The fact someone went as far as to make a fake letter from a clinic is really poor and isn't something any of us should be doing. We should be a community that looks out for each other, not trying to muddy the waters or get others in trouble.

As I said in that post and I'll say it again here:

>Sapphire are just a clinic they cannot and will not advise you to break the law. **Consuming flower by combustion is against the law** whether legal prescription or not. The form of usage has been written into the law meaning you have to vape it, or use oil where it can be consumed orally or topically.
>
>If Cannabis does not work for you whilst vaping then they will tell you to explore other options with your doctor. Just as other medications are ineffective, so can cannabis.

What I don't understand is what is wrong with that person to go through the effort of making a new reddit account, faking the email, posting to reddit and then arguing with people and even going as far to claim they were being bullied.

I know we're all medicating for different reasons but to go out and lie to others in an attempt to deceive them into breaking the law (which we've all gone down this route to avoid). I just can't sympathize for people who would try doing that to others.

Thanks for this. Truly shocked that such a blatant forgery was blindly accepted as legitimate by some.

Folks, please tread with caution and don’t take medical or legal advice from Reddit! No-one cares what you do in privacy, but protecting vulnerable and new users from misinformation has to be a priority.

Those cyber security experts were pretty quick to notice it was faked yesterday. Tbh, it did have me fooled, though, as I've been told by a few different patients that their doctors know they smoke from credible Reddit users as well. I don't know it to be true, as I've never seen written evidence from those patients, but they sounded very honest.

Thank you for getting the clarification for us.

Although I can’t help but be concerned about why someone would feel the need to lie about it, and what that person was going through last night was unpleasant to see and I’m still a little bit worried about them.

You know, I was defending that poster yesterday.

Why. Why would you fake that letter?

I just don’t see any point?

This community needs to stand together. Not create forgeries and division.

Can anyone tell me / link me to what was originally said?
I'm very curious to see this fraudulent email.

This is wild. I saw that thread and thought the letter looked a bit off. Why make it up though? What’s the purpose? I don’t get it.

Ahh thought as much but thank you for taking the time to confirm that yesterday post was fake.

I for one wouldn’t smoke now as I do feel very grateful for my prescription and wouldn’t want to do anything to risk losing it. If people want to then that’s their choice/risk but to post misinformation and try to encourage others to risk their prescriptions is just not on at all…..

We need to stick together as a community to continue to improve MC

Wow, I did see the post yesterday and just sent a positive message as the poster wasn't having a good time but the above post is clear as day , I really hope whoever posted that is doing okay as there must be some underlying issues but spreading misinformation isn't good, thanks for clarifying for everyone.

Why anyone would want to smoke is beyond me when you get all the benefits and none of the downsides when vaping

I don’t get this desperation to smoke prescription cannabis. Even if you’re getting it to mainly get high (via a qualifying medical condition) surely vaping will sort it.

As an ex tobacco smoker (I’m middle aged now and gave up tobacco 20 years ago), I couldn’t think of anything worse than smoking iy. Ugh the taste alone.

Besides the various vapes are really quite cool and unique. Lots of choice of vapes available. I’ve bought quite a few to try them and they are really nice to use and give you slightly different intensity of effects.

And no smell or nasty taste. What’s not to like. If you smoke cannabis just like tobacco the smell hangs around. Whereas with vaping it dissipates almost immediately.

I don’t understand this need for getting permission to smoke it??

Good effort mate. That person is clearly unwell and needs attention via trolling. I blocked them as such nonsense is annoying to have to endure. That being said, their selfish need for attention will have caused confusion for people who do not have the understanding of the MC landscape. That's what is so intolerable about it.

People on here are often vulnerable themselves, some have complex issues. Just move on and ignore it, no need for everyone giving the poster a ton of shit. It’s just the internet, most knew it wasn’t correct yesterday and those that wasn’t sure will now have some clarity.

Move on

Despite this being a totally wild ride, for the poster etc.... It is still true that authorities have turned many a blind eye to individuals on complex and expensive care-packages that smoke Cannabis. It is a form of neglect to allow these individuals to continue to smoke and use BM, but this is the reality for a few. I can only assume some people have heard anecdotal evidence of what I have seen in care, and ran with it.

Thank you for this, as it’s dangerous to preach wring information like this person was doing, so much appreciated, stay medicated, stay safe ❤️🤝💚

What a joke that it is legal to possess it and vape it but not to smoke it. Infantilisation at its absolute worst.

you literally sign a statement saying you will not smoke your prescription when you sign up with sapphire; it’s in the patient agreement on every patients’ personal portal. what an odd thing to lie about so blatantly??

The real problem is the medical cannabis community actually consists of two distinct groups.
We have the genuinely seriously ill who NEED medication.
Then there are the others. Those who love cannabis because it makes life more enjoyable who WANT cannabis
Often the two groups clash for fairly obvious reasons
This situation exists because the legislation of medical cannabis was dreadful So,we actually have bourgeoise cannabis rather than true medical cannabis.
