Ok so my script arrived. I’ve gone in. Flower looks drier than BM stuff and there’s a bit of a familiar smell, but not quite the same and nowhere near as strong as I’ve smelt walking down the street on any given day.
Having a try out, I’ve had 5/6 puffs trying to suss out whether I was ‘doing it right’ with the vape. It’s been a few years and I’m used to combustion method. Feels nice, definitely does something but I’m initially a bit worried I’m going to go through 10g quickly, as it doesn’t seem too strong and I’ve been on some heavy duty painkillers.
Ate some lunch that I’d prepared before I went in, just in case I overdid it and needed to eat to chill out. Effect seems to increase over time. It’s good, it’s nice. Feels fine, nothing too dramatic or unfamiliar.
So, I have osteoarthritis type pain from the shit tonne of chemo and bone infusions, the overnight menopause brought on by all my treatment. That was my motivation to do this. Worth a punt. Can’t make it worse any road, eh?
I stand up for the first time. Holy shit, I can feel my feet. And they don’t hurt. They don’t fucking hurt.
I stretch my arms out, then above my head. The surgery scar tightness is 70% down. At least.
I can twist and turn my body without wincing. I can walk down the hall without looking hobbled for the first twenty steps. I don’t have to ‘get the engine turning over’ before my body works. It just does. I don’t have to mentally prepare myself for the burning pain every time I get out of a chair.
I just fully wept.
With pure relief. I hadn’t realised. I hadn’t realised my body was hurting as much as it was. I hadn’t realised how much stress I’d been holding in my shoulders, how my body has been held taught in pure survival mode for over two years, from the absolute hell it’s been through.
All that tension from trauma and stress, just there in my body, doubling or probably tripling the pain caused by treatment. Gone.
And then I cried because people who need this, should just ~have it~. It should be so easy. I cried for all of us who need it and have it denied to us.
Thanks everyone who took time to answer my questions and give advice and kind words.
Special thanks too to u/vaporhead99 for the incredibly generous donation of a vape, when I was too skint from shelling out for consultation to buy one. What an absolute diamond.
TL/DR: yeah, works ok.

This is so beautiful and I mean that sincerely. I'm over the moon for you and I am a bit sad that this is not readily available on the NHS.
Thank you so much for posting this!

I've just ordered this and can't wait to try it now. Pain relief for chronic pain is something I need right now. So happy to hear you are finding it beneficial.

You are right, this access to “fairly decent” (and I say this because it’s always up and down on stock and quality) medication should be made available to us without the stigma. I’m happy that we don’t have to turn to BM and it’s legal. And most importantly that we can mix and match depending on what we need. So very happy for you and that you are feeling part of you has come back to life.

Happy for you op - your description about your relief is humbling. I'm an anxiety sufferer and thank my lucky stars I don't have chronic pain like so many I hear about. Amazing post.

How do you take the oil? Can it be put into a vape as is?
